Update on A25 from Southern Gas Networks

Update - Gas Network Upgrade, Sundridge, A25 Main Road

We’re writing to give you an update on the progress of our work on this project.

Phase 1: New Road to White Hart Pub. We’re pleased to advise you that Phase 1 has now been

completed with approximately 310m of new plastic pipe laid, and services to properties renewed and

transferred to the new gas main.

Phase 2: New Road to White Horse Pub. Work on this phase has been completed from the

junction with New Road to approximately 80m short of the junction with Church Road and the B2211

Chevening Road. We’re working to repair the road surface here and the traffic lights will be moved

along the road to start Phase 3 on Monday 26 February.

The remaining 80m of work on this section will need to be reviewed and replanned for a later date,

as we have found that the old metal pipes at the junction are in the middle of the road.

Phase 3: Weald House to Sevenoaks Garden Centre. Our engineers will begin upgrades from

Weald House to Sevenoaks Garden Centre next week. This phase is expected to last between five

and seven weeks.

To ensure everyone’s safety throughout the work phases, temporary traffic lights will remain around

our site. The traffic lights will continue to move along with us as work progresses. We recognise this

is a sensitive traffic location, and to help manage traffic flow, we’ll now be manually controlling the

traffic lights from 7am to 7pm

We understand roadworks can be frustrating. However, the new plastic pipe has a lifespan of 80

years. This means that once our work is done, Sundridge and Brasted residents and businesses will be

able to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable supply of gas for many years to come.
